Description
The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) intends to negotiate solely with Leica Microsystems, Inc. in Exton, PA; to purchase a complete incubation and temperature regulation system for use with a Leica Model DM IRBE optical microscope, operated as a confocal microscope system. Accessories for Confocal Microscope consists of: 1) Incubation system, complete: Environmental control system for microscopic specimen especially living cells or tissue sections. For all DM IR inverted microscopes: Includes miniature-incubation chamber with air control, control unit for temperature and CO2, heating insert p for petri-dishes or Bachofer perfusion chambers and temperature. Installation is included; 2) Bacofer Perfusion: Set for open and closed perfusion. Perfusor not included. Modified for TCS z-stages; 3) Objective heater d=30,5mm: Heater for objectives with diameter 30.5mm; 4) Temcontrol Mini for Objective heater: Temperature regulator for objective heater (156108376); for the Core Technologies Group in Wyndmoor, PA 19038. The capabilities of the microscope system, together with the availability of a large selection of fluorochromes as functional indicators, provide an important resource for pursuing scientific goals of some ARS national research programs. Many other experimental materials researched at ERRC, take advantage of the special capabilities of the confocal microscope system, but it is important to add an accessory incubation system to control the temperature and micro-environment of samples that are studied with the microscope. An incubation system, designed and manufactured for the TCS-SP microscope, that provides temperature regulation and perfusion capabilities is a necessary component for sophisticated control of sample conditions on the the experimental stage. Other current research projects benefiting potentially from micro-environmental control and the confocal microscope system represent all Research Units at ERRC. This is not a request for proposal. NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE. Companies with the demonstrated capability of providing this equipment must submit a descriptive statement, including descriptive literature, specifically addressing the equipment=s component=s and availability. The statement and literature must be submitted to the Contracting Office Address within 5 days of publication of this notice The items to be furnished shall be labeled with the purchase order number and delivered, all transportation charges paid by the Contractor in accordance with the F.O.B. Destination Clause to USDA, ARS, Eastern Regional Research Center. DOCUMENTATION: The Contractor shall provide operations, repair, maintenance manuals, and service instructions submitted upon delivery of the equipment. WARRANTY: The Contractor shall provide the warranty for this equipment with their offer.
