- Description
- The National Institutes of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Overhead Door Company of Washington under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) Soliciting from a Single Source, for replacement of two (2) 20’ wide overhead roll-up doors and (2) 15’ wide overhead roll-up doors. The Overhead Door Company is the original equipment manufacturer for the existing doors that are beyond their life expectancy of twenty (20) years. Replacement by the original equipment manufacturer is required to maintain the same architectural exterior view and for maintaining consistency in shop stock for parts, repairs, and scheduled maintenance. Therefore, based on the aforementioned reasons, the Overhead Door Company of Washington is the only source who can complete this requirement. A fixed price purchase order will be issued on or about April 23, 2004. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement, in writing, no later than the response date. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a Request for Quotation nor is it a request for competition.
