N00421-04-T-0131 Amendment 0002 THERE IS NO CHANGE TO THE DUE DATE FOR RECEIPT OF PROPOSALS AS A RESULT OF THIS AMENDMENT, WHICH REMAINS 3:00 P.M. (EDT) ON 4 MAY 2004. The purpose of this posting is to amend combined synopsis/solicitation N00421-04-T-0131 to remove and replace the existing non-skid surface at the MK-7 Arresting Gear site onboard the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Maryland. See, original posting of 16 April 2004. This amendment 0002 is to answer questions received on the original posting, as follows (questions may be paraphrased, where necessary, to conserve space): QUESTIONS ARE NUMBERED SEQUENTIALLY FROM AMENDMENT 0001, WHICH CONTAINED QUESTIONS 1-4. QUESTION 5: We were given a scaled set of drawings (as part of a market survey conducted by the technical personnel) and the square footage is 12,410, not 12,000 sq ft – a difference of 3%. Should we quote 12,000 sq ft then later seek a change order to cover the additional square footage? ANSWER 5: At first we calculated around 12,500 sq ft. Since then, we had to go back and recalculate to 12,000 sq ft because there is a test patch that will be applied (approximately 350-400 sq ft). The JSF program will have the test patch applied. QUESTION 6: In our estimate, we quoted to filter the water, perform a representative TCLP for heavy metals, and place the non-hazardous effluent water down the sanitary sewer, which is a standard practice for our customers. Note: the nearest facility that will take the effluent water is in Sparrows Point, which can only be hauled in 5,000-gallon lots due to weight constraints and will result in an additional cost per gallon. Patuxent River has its own water treatment facility. ANSWER 6: The Government will dispose of the filtered water. QUESTION 7: We first estimated completing this project in 21-22 working days after set-up. The Government wanted completion in 10 days, so we reworked our quote to complete in 10 days after set-up with good weather each working day. What is the requirement now for working days to complete after set-up? ANSWER 7: The Government still requires completion within 10-12 good weather working days to meet our required completion date of 1 June 2004. QUESTON 8: Please make note that the only Non-Skid qualified to be used in a landing area is MIL-PRF-24667, TYPE 1, Composition “L” (non-abrasive type). If this is not listed in the solicitation, another contractor may not be aware of this requirement and quote Comp. “G”, which is general use non-skid. ANSWER 8: The application required at this site is Type “L” and we recommend that ASTI MS 400L or AMERON 1368R be applied, or any similar application (if any) that meets the Type “L” specifications. --End of Amendment— NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (27-APR-2004); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
