- Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Pacific Rim Fisheries Alaska Pacific University, for the office of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC), located in Seattle, WA. Purpose of proposed contract is for collection of biological specimens from Russian EEZ of the Bering Sea to study inter-mingling of salmon stocks of Alaskan and Russian origins during the 2004-2005 field sampling season. Focus species are sockeye and king salmon. Collection will require arrangements to be made with Russian scientists to collect the specimens from the R/V TINRO and other research vessels what will be conducting research in the Bering Sea. Contract involves large amount of communications/liaisons with the Russian research laboratory TINRO in Vladivostok, Russia. Period of performance is from July 1, 2004 thru July 30, 2005. This NOAA study is already in progress and expected to be completed by the end of July 2005. The vendor has already completed the primary task required for the project and it is necessary that specimens and data collected, at-sea sampling protocols and collections be maintained to exact integrity standards. This notice may represent the only official notice. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000.00.
