Description
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), a bureau of the Department of Treasury, intends to issue a sole source purchase order utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures for 600 Visioneer XP100 Portable Scanners with USB and Serial Interface Kit – Part #SXP1001-DB. OCC has a number of Visioneer scanners and is looking for standardization both as it applies to the user environment and scanners. Visioneer’s swappable parts will fit most, if not all, Visioneer scanners, and the OCC has made the decision to stock the most common parts for their scanners to limit downtime in the event of failure and to minimize the risk of multiple failures. The interoperability of parts provides significant savings to the OCC. Standardizing hardware also benefits potential recovery should a disaster render a scanner unusable and saves training dollars for IT staff. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; a solicitation document will not be issued. All offers received within 5 days after the date of this publication with pricing and sufficient technical documentation to establish a bona fide capability to meet the requirement will be considered by the OCC. A determination not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the OCC. Information received will be considered primarily for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (18-MAR-2004). IT ACTUALLY APPEARED OR REAPPEARED ON THE FEDBIZOPPS SYSTEM ON 27-APR-2004, BUT REAPPEARED IN THE FTP FEED FOR THIS POSTING DATE. PLEASE CONTACT fbo.support@gsa.gov REGARDING THIS ISSUE.
