- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, intends to complete the design for the Construction of the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas to include the following sole source element. A contract for preconstruct ion services has been awarded to J.E. Dunn Construction of Kansas City, Missouri under contract DACA41-03-C-0003. It is the government's intent to negotiate the construction option for award in Spring 2004. The design will include AERCO modular boilers . The sole source selection of this item is required to minimize long term operating costs by maximizing energy efficiency at partial load conditions as the boilers match the building load requirements using a 20:1 turn down capability and by decreasing l ong term maintenance costs as a result of the stainless steel combustion chamber construction.
