Description
The Nashville District Corps of Engineers intends to issue a firm fixed price construction contract for civil works construction to replace stator iron and rewind the generators of Unit 4 and Unit 6 at Wolf Creek Power plant, Russell County, Kentucky . Work at Unit 6 is currently offered as an option. Generators are designed for star connection of the stator winding with each phase consisting of four parallel paths of 38 three-turn coils, for a total of 456 coils and slots. There are sixteen strand s per turn. Coil insulation is of the asphalt-mica type. Generator ratings, as defined by the nameplate stamping information are as follows: 50,000 kVA, 0.9 Power Factor, 13,800 V, 3-phase, 60 Hz, 105.9 RPM, 115 percent overload capability. The solicitation will be issued on or about May 17, 2004. This solicitation will be located electronically at http://www.lrn.usace.army.mil on or about May 17, 2004. The North American Industry Classification System (NAIC) Code for this procurement action is 335312. The magnitude of construction for this project will be between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. The requirements specified in the solicitati on are considered to be minimum requirements. The relative importance of the evaluation factors are identified. Sub factors and items within sub factors are listed in descending order of importance. Note that the evaluation factors, and sub factors in V olume I Technical Proposal when combined, are slightly more important than Volume II Price Proposal. Volume II Price Proposal will be comparatively evaluated for reasonableness after Volume I Technical Proposal is evaluated. The awardee must be registered in the Central Contractors Registration database. Information regarding the Central Contractors Registration can be located electronically at http://www.ccr.gov. The Government intends to award this contract without discussions.
