Description
The National Park Service is issuing a prospectus under which multiple concession contracts may be awarded for the operation of charter vessel services within Glacier Bay National Park. The prospectus is available on the Glacier Bay website at: http://www.nps.gov/glba/pphtml/news.html. Hardcopies are available upon request (see below). If you are planning to submit a proposal, we recommend that you advise the park of your interest. Those who have requested hard copies or advised the park of their interest will be placed on the mailing list to receive any updates or clarifications to the prospectus which might be issued during the response period. The contracts will be for a period of approximately ten years. Issuance of the prospectus and the award of any contract under this prospectus is categorically excluded from further analysis pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Offers must be received at National Park Service, Alaska Regional Office, 240 West 5th Avenue, Room 114, Anchorage, Alaska 99501, no later than 4:00 p.m. on June 30, 2004 to be considered and evaluated. Requests for the prospectus and other inquiries may be made to David Nemeth, Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve, Box 140, Gustavus, Alaska 99826, phone 907-697-2624, or e-mail david_nemeth@nps.gov. Commercial operations, including the charter vessel, guiding, or visitor services, occurring on Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve land and waters require prior written authorization from the National Park Service. Park/preserve waters include Glacier Bay, Dundas, Taylor, and Lituya Bays, parts of Excursion Inlet, Icy Strait, and the Outer Coast. Please contact the Park Chief Ranger, Chuck Young, at (907-697-2621) regarding any questions concerning boundaries of the park/preserve.
