Description
The Industrial Hygiene Office located at Fort Detrick, MD has a commercial item requirement to perform atmospheric and bulk sampling for a variety of stressors to periodically assess the potential for health hazardous exposures to personnel in both i ndustrial and nonindustrial work centers located at Fort Detrick, Frederick, MD; Fort Meade, Odenton, MD; Carlisle Barracks, Carlisle, PA; Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, PA; Defense Distribution Depot-Susquehanna, New Cumberland, PA: Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, PA; and, Charles E. Kelly Support Facility, Oakdale, PA. The contractor shall furnish all necessary labor and materials to analyze such Government-collected samples to determine the presence of hazardous substances as specified in the sche dule of services. The contractor shall be responsbile for pick-up of samples within 24 hours after notification by a representative from one of the Government Industrial Hygiene Offices listed above. The results of each test will be reported to the submi tting Office either within 2 working days after pick-up of the sample (for emergency analyses) or within 25 calendar days after pick-up of the sample (for routine analyses). All analyses shall be performed IAW OSHA or the NIOSH Manual of Analytical Method s. The contractor shall be a State of Maryland Certified Water Quality Laboratory; successfully participate in the EPA Water Supply and Water Pollution Programs or equivalent; be certified or validated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Navy Fac ilities Engineering Service Center (NFESC), or the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE); successfully participate in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) for bulk and airborne asbestos; and be American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) accredited at the time of proposal submission and throughout the duration of this contract. The anticipated period of performance is July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005, with four one-year option periods available for exercision by the Government. Full and option competitive procedures are being utilized, and the resultant award will be a purchase order.
