Description
The U.S. Army ARDEC, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806 is interested in acquiring market information on a 40mm Grenade Launcher Module (GLM). This GLM should be capable of firing all current U.S. standard 40mm x 46mm low-velocity ammunition. Additionally, it must accept more effective munitions with longer payloads/warheads, common to other NATO allies, but which are unable to be fired in the M203 system due to the constraint imposed by that weapon?s breach mechanism. The GLM must mount on the M4 Modular Weapon System with a mounting architecture flexible enough for adaptation to future rifles/carbines. The GLM should weigh less, be more reliable, more ergonomic, more accurate, and safer than the M203 Grenade Launcher. Additionally it should be capable of mounting the AN/PSQ-18A Day/Night Sight (AN/PSQ-18A is manufactured by Insight Technology, Configuration ? DNS-700-A9, Model 1800 black with tritium iron sights, NSN 1010 01516 0953). Please notify the Government if the product being offered is a commercially available or a non-developmental item. Proprietary and/or classified information will be protected if requested with submission. Interested firms should submit literature/brochures not exceeding twenty (20) pages describing their technical capabilities, item design details and operational characteristics, production capacity (monthly sustainable production rate, maximum production rate, and time frame for first and subsequent deliveries), location of manufacturing facilities, and unit production costs. This information may be mailed by May 24, 2004 to U.S. Army TACOM-Picatinny, Attn: AMSTA-AQ-APD, Bldg 10, John Rosamilia, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000. This market survey is for information and planning purposes only, does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government. The Government implies no intention or opportunity to acquire funding to support current or future development efforts. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this survey or results of information submitted.
