- Description
- The FAA has a continuing requirement for repair and engineering support services in support of the AWOS. The AWOS measures various weather parameters, processes the information and then disseminates the weather data to air traffic controllers via direct ground-to-air broadcasts (and other systems via phone lines). The weather data is used to direct general aviation traffic. The requirement is for a base year and includes option provisions to renew for four additional 1-year periods, to be exercised at the sole discretion of the FAA. The FAA intends to solicit and negotiate only with All Weather Inc., Sacramento, California, in accordance with AMS Policy 3.2.2.4. A market survey was conducted in March 2004, and the results of this survey supported the determination to solicit and negotiate with only one firm.
