The purpose of the unclassified conference is to advise industry of the DNG Program and DISA?s acquisition strategy for DNG requirements. Information will be provided concerning an anticipated Request For Proposal (RFP) for the DISN (Defense Information System Network) Access Transport Service (DATS), scheduled for release later this calendar year. This acquisition is designed to acquire bandwidth to support DoD DISN requirements, other DoD requirements, and Federal Agency requirements in the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, and US Territories and Possessions. The acquisition will provide leased services between the Government-owned backbone network, DoD installations, and customer locations. The transmission requirements will support bandwidths from sub-DSO through OC-192 and OC-192(c). Further information regarding this acquisition will be provided in a Request For Information (RFI), which will be issued prior to the Industry Day. Industry contracting opportunities associated with meeting the requirements of the DNG Program will also be addressed. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to pose questions both in advance of and during the conference.
