Description
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS FOR USTDA04-Q-5-146 1) The solicitation indicates that the contractor should initially meet with the US Embassy. Is it therefore correct that the proposal should provide for travel to Mexico City prior to travel to Tijuana and to Nogales? ANSWER: TRAVEL TO MEXICO CITY IS NOT NECESSARY. MEETINGS WITH THE US EMBASSY VIA PHONE AND E-MAIL SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT. 2) Should travel plans assume that interested parties to be visited with respect to the Tijuana Intermodal Terminal will be located in Tijuana and Mexico City only? ANSWER: ACTIVITIES RELATED TO THE TIJUANA INTERMODAL TERMINAL SHOULD BE SUFFICIENTLY PERFORMED IN TIJUANA - ADDITIONAL TRIPS TO MEXICO CITY ARE NOT DEEMED NECESSARY, HOWEVER MAY PROVE BENEFICIAL. 3) The solicitation does not identify the location of the Sinaloa investor group interested in the Nogales project and with which the contractor must interface. Will travel to Mexico City and Nogales accomplish the required coordination or should the budget provide for travel to Culiacan and/or Mazatlan in Sinaloa State? ANSWER: THE CONTRACTOR MUST REMAIN OPEN TO POTENTIAL TRAVEL WITHIN SONORA GIVEN THE UNDERDEVELOPED NATURE OF THIS COMPONENT OF THE PROJECT. UPON AWARD, THE CONTRACTOR WILL CONTACT THE APPROPRIATE PARTIES AND PLAN TRAVEL ACCORDINGLY. 4) How many field days in Mexico are required for this project? ANSWER: MINIMUM OF 14. 5) 2. What cities will the DM team be required to travel to? Will the site visits be focused just on the project cities of Tijuana and Nogales or will the DM team be required to meet with Mexican Federal Government officials in Mexico City? ANSWER: TRAVEL TO MEXICO CITY IS NOT DEEMED NECESSARY FOR THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE DM. THE DM TEAM WILL NEED TO TRAVEL TO SEVERAL SITES IN AND AROUND TIJUANA AS WELL AS IN THE STATE OF SONORA. AS THE SONORA/NOGALES PROJECT PROFILE IS LESS DEVELOPED, THE CONTRACTOR MUST REMAIN OPEN TO TRAVEL IN CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN SONORA. CORRESPONDENCE WITH MEXICO CITY CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED VIA PHONE AND E-MAIL.
