Description

The U. S. Department of Commerce, National Telecommunication and Information Administration (NTIA) proposes to negotiate on a sole source basis, under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), with M/A-COM Wireless Systems for the purchase of a Mastr III IP Station and portable radios. Our mission is to acquire each of the P25 radio and base station brands available on the market today, which operate in the VHF band, and test them for interoperability. Testing is currently being performed on the following Project 25 radios and base stations: Thales Communications, Motorola, EF Johnson, Daniels, Relm B-K, Datron, and Technisonic This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items (NTE $100K). FAR Clauses in full text are available at http://www.ARNET.gov/far/. This synopsis is issued for information only. No competitive solicitation is planned. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether or not other manufacturers exist.
