- Description
- Road 581 Culvert Replacements: Project consists of removal and replacement of 17 existing undersized corrugated metal pipes and installation of new culverts. One major culvert in Moss Creek is to be replaced. The remaining culverts are all in either ephemeral draws or are cross drains: the new culverts will be either 18 inch or 24 inch culverts. The project runs along Road 581, Toboggan Ridge Road, from Road 500, the Lolo Trail, for 9 miles. To access the project area, take Road 569, Parachute Hill Road, off Hwy 12 at milepost 162, near Powell Ranger Station, to Road 500. Head south on Road 500 for 12 miles to Cayuse Junction. Road 581 begins at Cayuse Junction. The Moss Creek culvert site is at milepost 2.3. The remaining culverts are dispersed along the road within the burned area. Est. price range: $25,000 - $100,000, Est. start work July 2004. ALL INTERESTED QUOTERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO VIEW THE SITES THIS FALL, AS THIS PROJECT WILL BE ADVERTISED PRIOR TO SNOWMELT IN 2004.
