Description
The NLOS-LS program will develop and test a containerized, platform-independent, multi-mission weapon concept. These systems will provide rapid response and lethality in packages requiring significantly fewer personnel, decreased logistical support, and lower life cycle costs, while increasing survivability compared to current gun and missile artillery. The program will develop and demonstrate highly flexible systems including a modular, multi-mission, precision attack missile (PAM), a loitering att ack missile (LAM), and a remotely commanded self-locating launcher. This system will be integrated with a command and control system compatible with military doctrine. This action is sole-sourced to Netfires, LLC, the joint venture between Raytheon Corporation and Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control - Dallas (LMMFC-D). Netfires, LLC is uniquely versed in the issues facing this program and the historical legacy for ming the basis for the program. Netfires, LLC experience with the technology involved in the PAM, LAM, and C/LU makes them uniquely qualified to perform this requirement. The PAM and LAM technologies and designs were developed by Raytheon Corporation and Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, respectively, under contract to Army and then DARPA over a period of 60 months. The purpose of this contract is for Netfires, LLC to conduct data development, technology development, technology integration, technology demonstration, and design support efforts required for Enhancements and Technology Insertions for PAM, LAM and C/LU su bsystems including, but not limited to, the imaging sensor, automatic target recognition, guidance and actuation components, warhead/fuze, propulsion, and airframe. The period of performance will be award through 31 DEC 2008, utilizing a basic effort and four twelve-month priced option periods.
