Description

This is a Pre-Solicitation Notice: The USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), intends to acquire construction services for our facility at the National Veterinary Services Laboratories (NVSL) in Ames, Iowa. The contractor shall furnish all plant, labor, equipment, and materials necessary for the improvement/installation of a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system(s) consisting of an air handling unit, ductwork, VAV boxes, chilled water, hot water and steam piping, and temperature controls as to be reflected on drawings and specifications (to be provided to the contractor). The construction contractor shall also provide labor and materials to install government furnished equipment (two air handling units and one 60 ton air cooled packaged chiller) and other general construction in accordance with the statement of work, specifications and drawings. The record drawings shall be revised by the construction contractor to reflect all new work. The following information will be furnished to potential offerors: (1) drawings of the proposed construction and, (2) specifications. It is anticipated that a single award will be made. The construction project shall be completed within approximately two (2) months after award and the issuance of the notice to proceed. This is a full and open procurement which is to be awarded as a fixed price contract. The estimated price range is between $250,000 and $500,000. The solicitation, #APHIS-04-009, is to be affixed to all documents submitted in reference to this requirement. It is anticipated that the solicitation, APHIS-04-009, is to be released on or about December 23, 2003 and proposals will be due thirty (30) days after the release of the solicitation. The pre-solicitation notice and solicitation (with attachments, such as drawings/specifications) will be available electronically at the following Internet website: www.FedBizOpps.gov. Telephone requests will not be accepted. Paper copies of the RFP and/or amendments will not be issued. The specifications and drawings will be accessible electronically at the Internet website: www.FedBizOpps.gov. Any changes to the pre-solicitation notice or solicitation will be posted to the FedBizOpps website. Potential offerors must submit a street mailing address and an email address, if questions/comments are submitted. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered. Proposals will be due no later than 2:30 p.m. local time on or about January 22, 2004 (a specific date will be indicated with the release of the solicitation (request for proposals).
