Description
The US Geological Survey intends to award a contract to Plaschem Supply, Inc of Anchorage, AK for a commercial item as follows: 50 ea with 3 options for increased quantity of the same, seismic station enclosures, commercial P/N 12CB445ENVIRO. Only one known source can provide enclosures with these required specifications. Enclosures must be transparent to radio frequency; constructed of molded fiberglass reinforced plastic; made of seamless construction with a smooth exterior that is weather proof to snow, ice, rain, and high winds. Must withstand 150 pound per square foot snow load and 125 miles per hour wind load. Must not exceed 450 lbs. Must sling under Bell Jet Ranger B-Model helicopter for transportation to remote sites. Must be equipped with four anchor points for helicopter sling rigging and four anchor points for ground anchors and a rock/mounting flange around bottom edge for added ballast and ground anchoring. No other anchoring mechanism except a bottom rock-mount flange is acceptable. The enclosure roof must be angled and reinforced for optimal solar panel mounting in Alaska and be equipped with 2 through-wall fittings for seismic device cabling. Enclosures must be vented and have molded door of same construction and be fitted with a neoprene seal capable of supporting 400 pounds. The floor must be capable of supporting 400 pounds. All hardware must be of non-corrosive material. General dimensions of enclosure shall not exceed 4 feet by 4 feet by 5 feet (LWH). The total footprint shall not exceed 68 inches by 68 inches. Enclosure must have a clear opening of doorway at least 30 inches by 41 inches (WH). Roof design shall include reinforcement for solar panel mounting and solar receipt. Enclosure surface shall be finished with gray gel-coat. No solicitation will be issued. Interested parties may submit a capability statement for review to Contracting Officer J. Stevenson (650) 329-4174. Award under Simplified Acquisition Procedures FAR 13.5 is contemplated. Anticipated award date: April 16, 2004. See note 25.
