- Description
- Provide services and materials to conduct an internet-based, on-line, commission-type sale of nonexcess industrial equipment located at Rock Island Arsenal (RIA), Rock Island, IL. The equipment is a wide variety of industrial equipment, in various c onditions, ranging from approximately 10 to 50 years in age. There is no warranty on this equipment. There are approximately 320 items, located in Bldgs 212, 250, 343, and 220 of the manufacturing complex. A date and time for a site visit will be state d in the solicitation. Offerors shall be set up and capable of receiving bids within 15 calendar days from award of this contract. The sale of all equipment must be completed by 3 Sept 04, which is defined as ??????all assets shall be removed from the pr emises and all proceeds from the sale shall be turned over to RIA??????. Offerors shall market RIA??????s equipment to achieve maximum exposure. Marketing shall include, but not be limited to: Daily or weekly ads placed in industrial-type publications, such as, The Locator, Metal Working News, The Trader, etc.; customer mailings; e-mail alerts; announcements; and facsimiles to a minimum of 20,000 manufacturing plants nationwide. The offeror shall categorize and catalog items (approx. ???? of the invent ory) currently available (as of the solicitation date) for initial sale and successively add items as they become available. Offerors shall be certified and accredited by the Machine Dealers National Association (MDNA) and the Association of Machinery and Equipment Appraisers (AMEA). Offerors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (www.ccr.gov) before award. The procurement is a small busines set-aside conducted under simplified acquistion procedures in accordance with FAR 13.5. Award will be made to the quote/plan that offers the best value to the Government. Quotes/plans will be evaluated on marketing/sales plan, past performance of the quoter, and maximum financial benefit to the Government from the sale.
