Description
The USDA, ARS, Forage and Range Research Laboratory, Logan, UT, has a requirement for one new fully integrated gene expression analysis system. The system shall include instrumentation, micro-arrays, reagents, data management, and data analysis system enabling simultaneous quantitative monitoring of thousands of gene transcript expression profiles and gene sequence variations. The system shall include gene sequence micro-arrays, automated fluidics controls, hybridization controls, data management software, data mining software, and seamless data ports and recognizable data formats for other third-party data analysis software. The acquisition is being conducted using commercial items best value procedures. Evaluation criteria in no order of preference are price, warranty, performance capability, and resolution. The performance capability and resolution shall include probe density, probe replication features, probe specificity features, uniformity of manufacturing, detection sensitivity for differences in transcript abundance, and absolute detection sensitivity of rare transcripts in complex mixtures. Internal control features that monitor and normalize cross-hybridization and overall hybridization will be considered. The availability and quality of micro-arrays for human and agriculturally and/or environmentally important plants, animals, and microbes or model systems will be considered. The cost and quality of making custom micro-arrays based on new sequence information will be considered. Electronic copies of this solicitation are not available at this time. For a copy of the solicitation fax a request to 970-492-7031. Include your company name, address, phone and fax numbers, and an e-mail address.
