- Description
- DESC: Naval Special Warfare Development Group located at FCTCL Dam Neck, Virginia Beach, VA is looking for companies with the capabilities and facilities to provide COTS, NDI, or near NDI Enhanced Cartridge 40mm x 46, HE-FRAG ammunition. The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) intends to apply for approval of a Foreign Comparative Testing (FCT) project (www.acq.osd.mil/sts/fct) to evaluate candidate ammunition. USSOCOM is interested in contracting with vendors who are currently using the most advanced technologies in the design and fabrication of 40mm low velocity ammunition that, can be fired from typical hand-held grenade launchers such as the M-79. Ammunition must be fitted with a point detonating self-destruct fuse. The ammunitions lethal mechanism must be located at the rear to allow unimpeded fragment spray on target impact. The government may decide to acquire for testing purposes one or more vendor products that appear to meet or exceed the stated criteria. Responses are requested of those suppliers who can provide approximately 5000 rounds of ammunition ready for test and demonstration purposes on or about 01 November 2004. Responses to this market survey are due on or before 15 April 2004, and must include a product description with performance parameters and a statement regarding current availability, summary of prior testing, test reports, summary of logistic and maintenance requirements and an estimated cost for the price of test articles and production units.
