Description
DESC: Naval Special Warfare Development Group located at FCTCL Dam Neck, Virginia Beach, VA is looking for companies with the capabilities and facilities to provide COTS, NDI, or near NDI multi-caliber capable pistols. The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) intends to apply for approval of a Foreign Comparative Testing (FCT) project (www.acq.osd.mil/sts/fct) to evaluate candidate pistols. USSOCOM is interested in contracting with vendors who are currently using the most advanced lightweight and corrosion resistant materials technologies in the design and fabrication of pistols. The government may decide to acquire for testing purposes one or more vendor products that appear to meet or exceed the stated criteria. Responses are requested of those suppliers who can provide approximately 10 pistols ready for test and demonstration purposes on or about 01 November 2004 and capable of meeting the following criteria: 1) Semi-automatic firing system; 2) Capable of firing either 9mm, 45 ACP, or .40 S&W; 3) Rail system intregal to forward lower frame; 4) Magazine capacity 12 rounds for 45 ACP, 15 rounds for 9mm, 10 rounds for .40 S&W; 5) Weight not to exceed 40 ounces. Responses to this market survey are due on or before 15 April 2004, and must include a product description with performance parameters and a statement regarding current availability, summary of prior testing, test reports, summary of logistic and maintenance requirements and an estimated cost for the price of test articles and production units.
