Description
NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the design, manufacture, test, and delivery of 18 complete Initiator Resistance Measurement Units (IRMU). The IRMU is a Safety Critical Ground Support Equipment (GSE) item that measures the bridgewire resistance of the NASA Standard Initiator (NSI). The IRMU will accomplish this by using an internal microcontroller that will interface with an IBM compatible personal computer via a Universal Serial Bus (USB). The IRMU shall allow the operator the ability to: measure the NSI bridgwire value to within a 10m OHM resolution; display the information on a computer using the Windows 2000 operating system; store the data in various user-determined formats; and provide hardcopies in a variety of formats. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 334515 and 500, respectively. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about 04/12/2004 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about 05/11/2004. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
