- Description
- NASA/GRC has a requirement for the annual renewal of maintenance and support on an existing software product, Platform Load Sharing Facility (LSF) Standard Edition. LSF runs on GRC's Linux cluster and SGI IRIX platforms. NASA/GRC intends to purchase the support and maintenance from Platform Computing, Inc. Platform Computing has provided the support and maintenance on the existing Platform LSF Standard and Parallel software. The software is proprietary and unique to Platform Computing, Inc. This procurement is being conducted uner the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) in FAR Part 13. The Sole Source is under the authority of FAR reference 13.106-(b)(1). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Organizations that believe they are capable of performing the described work may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 4/9/04. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. THIS IS NOT A COMPETITIVE ANNOUNCEMENT -- IT IS A SOLE SOURCE ANNOUNCEMENT. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
