Description

The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District is issuing this request for quotes (RFQ) to fulfill a need for bottled water. The successful offeror shall furnish bottled water as follows: 1. The contractor shall provide and deliver natural sp ring drinking water in 5-gallon demi-john bottles shall be delivered during the 1st week of each month. This amount can go higher depending on mission requirements, personnel and weather. Additional deliveries may be required during emergencies and perio ds of excessive heat. The contractor is required to deliver the water within 24 hours after receiving a phone call from the Government requesting delivery of the additional water. 2. The period of service will be 12 months, commencing 7 April 2004 and en ding 31 March 2005. There will be four option years commencing 1 April 2005, 1 April 2006, 1 April 2007, and 1 April 2008. 3. Delivery is the first week of each month, Monday through Friday between the hours of 0745 and 1500. 4. Empty demi-john bottles will be stored at Caven Point Marine Base and shall be picked up by the contractor when the new bottles are delivered. The contractor shall not charge a bottle deposit. The applicable NAICS code is 454390 with a small business size standard of 500 employ ees. This solicitation is a 100% small business set-aside, but large companies can quote too. It will be awarded to a large business only if there are no responsive or responsible small businesses that respond to this solicitation. All offerors must sub mit a quote on the base period and all option periods. The RFQ will be issued on or about 29 March 2004. Quotes are due by 4:00 PM on Monday, 5 April 2005. The media selected for the issuance o f the solicitation and amendments shall solely be at the discretion of the Government; accordingly, the media utilized for this project shall be the Internet. Paper copies of this solicitation, and amendments, if any, will not be available or issued. The solicitation documents are portable document files (PDF) and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Minimum system requirements are 486 Based personal computers, Microsoft Windows 3.1 or greater, 8MB application RAM. A registration page is attached to the website and prospective bidders are required to register and to receive notice of any amendments and /or addenda that may be issued to this solicitation.
