Description
The U.S. Army Research Development and Engineering Command, Soldiers Systems Center (RDECOM-SSC) in Natick, MA, is conducting a market survey for technical information from foreign vendors on a reusable Container Delivery System (CDS) Aft Restraint a nd Release System on C-130 aircraft. The current system uses up to three plies of Type XXVI nylon webbing to provide aft restraint. During airdrop of CDS bundles, the static line retriever winch is activated and through a pulley system it cuts the nylon we bbing with a guillotine knife. A new system is desired that will be reusable while reducing the pull forces on the static line retriever required to actuate the release. Additionally, the new system should be compatible with both Center Vertical Restraint (CVR) and non-CVR operations. The ability to insert interim release gates for the purpose of extending exit times is also critical. This potential science and technology effort in the area of applied research and experimental development being considered is on the order of $50K - $150K per year for one year. Proprietary information will not be disclosed outside the U.S. Government. All interested foreign firms, regardless of size are encouraged to respond to this request for information. It should be noted that this is a market survey and not a pre-solicitation notice. A pre-solicitation notice will be published if a formal solicitation is generated. No awards will result from this market survey. Nothing shall be construed herein or through the market survey process to commit or obligate the U.S. Government to further action as a result of this market survey. Firms responding to this market survey shal l bear all risk and expense of any resources used to provide the requested information, and all information submitted in response to this request shall become the property of the U.S. Government and will not be returned to the submitter. Respondents must s ubmit their product brochures, technical data, or other information concerning performance and cost within 30 days of this publication. Responses may be sent via email to Richard.benney@natick.army.mil or by regular mail to US Army RDECOM, Natick Soldier Center, AMSRD-NSC-AD-JP (ATTN: Richard Benney), 15 Kansas Street, Natick, MA, 01760, Telephone (508) 233-5835, Fax (508) 233-5000. An alternative point of contact (POC) is MSgt Scott Martin, Telephone (508) 233-5048, Fax (508) 233-5000 No solicitation document exists at this time. This market survey is for information and planning purposes only. This is not an Invitation for Bid (IFB) or a Request for Proposal (RFP) and is not to be taken as a commitment by RDECOM-SSC.
