- Description
- The purpose of this project is to obtain anonymous serum samples from healthy children, 6 months through 23 months of age who are receiving influenza vaccine for the first time. Sample collection will occur prior to the first and second dose of the vaccine series, and after receipt of the second dose of the vaccine series. Sera from the blood samples will be tested by the Strain Surveillance Laboratory of the Influenza Branch. Recruit for the survey will be 30 randomly selected, otherwise healthy infants and children receiving influenza vaccination for the first time. Tasks to be performed will include (1) recruitment of healthy subjects ages 6 months to 23 months; (2) collect blood samples; (3) spin blood and store; and (4) ship serum samples to the CDC. It is anticipated that a firm fixed price contract will be made. The performance period of the contract will be five years. This will be a full and open competition requirement.
