- Description
- NASA/MSFC has a requirement for hardware component upgrades for existing real-time embedded control equipment NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from National Instruments pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The additional hardware components will upgrade Marshall Space Flight Center's existing real-time embedded control equipment by increasing the available measuring and controlling channel capability. It is an absolute requirement that compatibility be maintained between any supplemental hardware and the existing hardware and software. National Instruments is the manufacturer of the existing real-time embedded control equipment and is the only manufacturer that can supply the required hardware components that insures seamless compatibility with the existing equipment. National Instruments has no distributiors. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on March 30, 2004. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
