Description
?This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command.? The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, RI intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Physical Sciences, Inc. of Andover, MA to continue the development of the Automated Ocean Surface Reflection Tracking System. Specifically, the objective is to provide a tracking control system hardware assembly. The basic components for an updated stand-alone automated ocean surface reflection tracking system shall be integrated and delivered to NUWCDIVNPT. This work shall duplicate the control electronics, scanner, and DSP/PC host platform with software to enable further research at NUWCDIVNPT. The delivered system shall have a closed-loop bandwidth that shall be more than doubled. Physical Sciences, Inc. proprietary algorithms and familiarity with optical system design make them the only known company with the ability to make the required integration. The solicitation is expected to be released on or about 04/09/04. Anticipated award date is 05/09/04. Delivery is F.O.B. destination, Newport, RI for efforts to be completed by 180 days ARO. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responsible sources may submit a quotation, which will be considered by the Government. Telephone requests will not be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Our department no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. Instead, they may be accessed at our web site http://www.npt.nuwc.navy.mil/contract/.
