- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head, Md. (NSWCIH) intends to award a Sole Source contract to Applied Coating Systems Inc.,. The procurement will consist of thermal coating of 160 MK 71 Rocket Launchers in accordance with hazardous procedures. Coating shall be done in accordance with NAVAIR DWG 4902292, Notes No. 3 and 4, Find No. 33, 41, and 42. Apply primer coating. Primer coating shall be apply conforming to MIL-P-23377, Type II, dry film thickness shall be 0.0006 to 0.0009 inch. Apply thermal coating shall be apply conforming to MIL-C-81945, Type I, to outside diameter, dry film thickness shall be 0.130 plus or minus 0.015 inch. Apply primer coating shall be apply conforming to MIL-P-23377, Type II, dry film thickness shall be 0.0006 to 0.0009 inch. Apply top coat op coat shall be apply conforming to MIL-P-83286, dry film thickness shall be 0.0017 to 0.0023 inch. Health and Hazard information: the thermal coating compound, (MIL-C-81945, Type I) is a Solvent based material with Volatile Organic Components (VOC) that require specialized equipment for the application. The applicable North American Industrial classification System (NIACS) code is 541990. The FSC code is J099. The resulting contract will be a firm fixed price contract. Negotiations being conducted using other than full and open competition procedures pursuant to authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (C) (1). See Note 22.
