Description

Roads Construction Project No. F.A.I.R. Chip Seal No. 1: The Bureau of Indian Affairs, Western Regional Office, seeks Indian-Owned Construction Firms which can provide all labor, materials, equipment and services to minor hot asphalt concrete, hot asphalt--rubber chip seal coat, final fog seal and pavement markings on 8.1 miles of roadway on BIA Rts. 7, 42, 45, and 46, Fort Apache Indian Reservation, Navajo County, Arizona. Estimated Price Range is $500,000 to $1,000,000. ISSUE DATE o/a 07 APR 2004. BID OPENING DATE o/a: 06 MAY 2004. THIS PROCUREMENT IS SET-ASIDE FOR 51% INDIAN-OWNED AND CONTROLLED FIRMS UNDER THE "BUY INDIAN ACT." 25 U.S.C. 47, Section 7(b) of P.L. 93-638 (25 U.S.C. 450e) requires that preference opportunities in employment and training be given to Indian/Alaska Native individuals and that preference in award of subcontracts be given to Indian/Alaska Native economic enterprises. Indian firms bidding under this Act must self-certify they are eligible under the "Buy Indian Act."
