Description

The Veterans Affairs Salt Lake City Health Care System (VASLCHCS) in Salt Lake City, Utah, has need of Disability Examination Services. The requirement is for one base year and up to four one year option years. The Disability Examination Services are to include the following: Manager/Instructor. Approximately 0.25 Full Time Employee Equivalent (FTEE) Manager/Instructor, to: train physicians and staff in official compensation and pension procedures; implement protocols, policies and procedures developed by the facility; attend monthly in-service physician staff meetings; QA and training; cooperative training/regular meetings with the VA Regional Benefits Office. This requirement is to be incorporated in the Occupational Medicine Physician description below. Occupational Medicine Physicians. Provide an estimated 2.0 FTE Occupational Medicine physicians, board eligible/certified with residency training experienced in: environmental toxin exposures; radiation; herbicides; pesticides; environmental illness; occupational disease and injury; pre-placement examinations; drug screen medical review (MRO certified); and impairment and disability evaluation. A Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with equivalent training and credentials can be substituted for one of the positions. NOTE ON ESTIMATED FTEES: Although estimated FTEEs are provided, this is for contractor use in estimating staffing and is not a mandatory requirement. NOTE ON STAFF SUPPORT: VASLCHCS will provide sufficient nursing/administrative staff to efficiently process patients. This acquisition is 100% Set Aside for Small Business. NAICS code is 621999.
