Description
The FAA, EASTERN REGION, HAS A REQUIREMENT FOR CONSTRUCTION SERVICES (roof replacement) Base Building, Air Traffic Control Tower, Norfolk International Airport, Norfolk, Virginia. Work is to include but is not limited to (1) remove all existing roof membrane, flashings and metal work down to the existing steel roof deck, (2) properly abate any asbestos containing roofing materials in compliance with all local, state and federal requirements, (3) install a layer of red rosin paper over the roof deck, (4) mechanically attach a 2.5 inch thick layer of polyisocyanurate insulation to the steel deck to met FM 1-90 requirements, (5) fully adhere a tapered (1/4 inch per foot) layer of perlite insulation in full moppings of asphalt bitumen, (6) place a new, two-ply, mop-applied, modified bitumen membrane, the top ply of the membrane shall be granule-surfaced, (7) install a new throughwall scupper to provide drainage at designated area, (8) and others that are specified in the contract description and the drawings. The estimated cost of the project is between $100,000.00 and $150,000.00. The following known companies are being provided a copy of the Screening Information Request (SIR): 1. PCS CONSTRUCTION, SPRINGFIED, VA 2. MPSC, FALL CHURCH, VA 3. COMMONWEALTH CONSTRUCTION CO., RICHMOND, VA. THE NAICS CODE IS 235610. THIS PROJECT IS 100% SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESS. The Government is seeking offers that provide the best combination of quality and price in order to select the great value or "Best Buy" offer. Therefore, award may be made to other than the lowest price offered. All companies will be evaluated on Past Performance, financial capability and price. Due to the short turnaround on this project estimated to begin May 10, 2004, the FAA will accept an additional three requests for this SIR. The first three companies, other than those listed above, who respond to this announcement by 3:30 P.M., April 9, 2004, will be provided the SIR. Interested companies should request a copy of the SIR via facsimile at 718-995-5685, ATTN: Mr. Agapito C. Dadiz. Requests will be controlled by date and time stamped on the facsimile request. After the limit is reached, no other request will be accepted. No telephone requests will be accepted on this SIR. Conractors have the responsibility to verify the receipt of the request.
