- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is situated on two campuses located in Gaithersburg, Maryland and Boulder, Colorado. The Gaithersburg site consists of more than 30 buildings located on 578 acres. The Boulder site consists of 15 Buildings located on 205 acres. With the recent completion of the Advanced Measurement Laboratory construction project, a 536,507gsf (49,843gsm) state-of-the-art, advanced technology research facility at NIST's Gaithersburg, Maryland site, NIST has an immediate need for the services of a qualified building automation systems and HVAC controls contractor to modify the systems installed in the building to bring them into conformance with applicable building automation systems standards in use at the Gaithersburg campus. These standards include BACnet and BACnet/IP. This sources sought notice is for the purpose of seeking interested, qualified parties capable of providing the necessary services needed to improve the BAS communications systems through the replacement of existing BACnet/Modbus and Modbus/Inet2000 gateways with a single BACnet/Inet2000 gateway on each of nine sub-networks. The existing building systems include an Alerton/BACtalk (BACnet/Ethernet) system for most of the AML as well as a TAC(CSI)/Inet2000 system for 48 "High-Accuracy" laboratory HVAC systems having a temperature control accuracy of +/-0.1 degree C or +/-0.01 degree C. Interested parties shall submit a letter of interest with responses to the following items:(1) Documented experience with other projects of a similar size and complexity. (2)A brief statement of the approach to the initial task as described in this notification. Multiple approaches are encouraged. (3)Documentation of the capabilities (or proposed capabilities) of a suitable BACnet Gateway device currently produced. (Please include product specifications and whether appropriate agreements are currently held or would need to be sought to properly configure the gateway device(s). Include statement(s) as to the level of compliance with the requirements of Table B.8 in the scope of work. (4)The NAICS code for this procurement is 238210 (Building automation system installation contractors) and the corresponding size standard is $12M. Identify business size and any socioeconomic classification (small disadvantaged/women-owned/8(a)/hubzone/veteran-owned/ service-disabled veteran-owned).
