Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command plans to solicit proposals for a modular, man-portable equipment suite or Target Location, Designation, and Hand-Off System (TLDHS), that will provide the ability to quickly acquire targets in day, night, and near-all-weather visibility conditions. Operators will be able to accurately determine their own location as well as that of their targets, digitally transmit (hand-off) data to supporting arms elements, and designate targets for laser-seeking Precision Guided Munitions (PGM) and Laser Spot Trackers (LST). The TLDHS will be fielded to Forward Observer (FO) Teams, Naval Gun Fire (NGF) Spot Teams, Tactical Air Control Parties (TACPs), and Reconnaissance Teams. The proposed procurement is set forth in the DRAFT Statement of Work (SOW) which encompasses design, development, fabrication, integration, testing, documentation, logistics support, technical support, field service support, training, and delivery of the TLDHS. It is the Government's intent to issue a formal solicitation for the proposed procurement. In the interim, interested offerors with the capability of meeting the proposed requirement are requested to provide an e-mail expressing interest in being placed on a list of potential offerors. Company name, address, point of contact (POC) name and POC phone number should be provided in the e-mail. Interested offerors are requested to submit suggestions, comments, and/or questions in response to the draft documentation posted on the dedicated web page for the proposed procurement. The web page containing all draft documentation is located at www.marcorsyscom.usmc.mil\sites\ctq\strike.asp. All updates to the documentation will be posted on the web page and no further notice will be provided on fedbizopp.gov with the exception of notice of formal release of the solicitation. Written responses should be submitted not later than close of business 2 April 2004. Interested offerors are also encouraged to provide literature, brochures, and capabilities summaries directly addressing their ability to meet the aforementioned needs. Submission of information should not be construed as a commitment to procure nor will the Government pay for any information submitted. No telephonic responses will be accepted. Responses should be submitted to the contact person listed above at Commanding General, Marine Corps Systems Command, ATTN: PG12 02SW, 2200 Lester Street, Quantico, VA 22134-6050. THE SUBMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PROCURE ANY ITEMS/SERVICES, NOR FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR THE INFORMATION RECEIVED. E-mail address is wardsh@mcsc.usmc.mil for the contact person.
