The U S Naval Academy has a requirement to repair or replace the following items: Clin 0001 ? Repair or Replace (as needed) torsion testing machine (10,000 in-lbf capacity) 1 Each.Clin 0002 ? Repair wood top bench for Torsion Testing Machine 1 Each. Clin 0003 ? Repair or Replace (as needed) Torsion Pick-up 1k to 10 k capacity. 2 Each. Clin 0004 ? Repair or Replace (as needed) Angle of Twist Signal Conditioner. 1 Each. Clin 0005 ? Installation and Service. 1 Lot. Clin 0006 ? Shipping. 1 Lot. NO ORAL REQUEST FOR QUESTIONS SHALL BE HONORED. Your quote must be completely filled out and all paperwork attached failure to do so will result in an unacceptable bid. This is a Small Business Set-A-Side. TORSION TESTING MACHINE SPECS Torsion Testing Machine (10,000 in-lbf capacity) screw type load frame connection with screws supported both top and bottom for rigidity. Closed Loop speed control from 5 degree/minute to 360 degree/minute. Speed and direction of twist may be preset or changed during tests. Precision optical encoder to monitor the position of the drive chuck (to read in either degrees or radians). Gear operated torsion pickups with signal conditioner to measure the amount of twist in the specimen, measuring range +/- 200 degree. System should me modular to accept additional load cells and other transducer. Accuracy: within +/- 5% of the indicated torque from 0.2% to 100% of capacity. Resolution: Better than 1/100,000 of capacity. Display: Torque in either in in-ibf, kg-cm, or N-m, position in either degrees or radians, speed in either degrees or radians per minute, amount of specimen twist from torsion pickups and signal conditioner displayed in either degrees or radians. Variable sample break function to display peak values automatically. High speed serial port (or equivalent) for data transmission or connection to a computer. Set of holding chucks, jaws to enable testing of cylindrical (or hex-ended specimens form 5/16 inch to at least 1-1/2 inch in diameter and up to 18 inches long. Wood top Bench for 10,000 in-lbf torsion test machine, approximately 72 inch by 30 inch deep by 30-3/4 inch high. Installation and Service: service to verify proper installation, calibrate, and instruct personnel on the operation of the machine.
