Description
The Contractor is required to provide all materials, equipment and labor necessary to remove and dispose of the existing boiler and install a new cast iron, sectional, low pressure, dual fuel, hot water boiler. The new boiler shall have a minimum 1054 MBH gross output. The boiler shall b installed per Manufacturer?s recommendations. The Contractor shall modify the existing flue stack to fit the new boiler. The new boiler provided by the contractor shall be designed for use with a flame retention type power gas burner capable fo burning both natural and propane gas with manual changeover. The boiler shall be energy star qualified. The burner electrical characteristics shall be 120 Volt, single phase and furnished with a pre-wired control panel which incorporates an electronic combustion safeguard primary control with pre-purges timing, an ultraviolet sensitive electronic flame detector and motor start relay. The gas burner shall be furnished with dual automatic gas valves, proven intermittent gas pilot and air flow switches. The Contractor shall provide unit mounted safety pilot lights to activate if boiler shuts down on any of the following safety controls: 1) Low Water, 2) High Temperature, 3) Low gas pressure, 4) High gas pressure, 5) Flame failure. The Contractor will provide a combination pressure and temperature gauge and ASME rated pressure relief valve set at 30 PSI, a low water cut off with manual reset, factory installed operating temperature controller to operate burner on-off, high limit temperature controller with manual reset. The entire boiler, gas train and controls shall comply with the requirements of FM, State of Georgia Boiler Code and ASME CDS-1. Contractor shall contact the Safety Engineering Section of the Georgia Department of Labor and obtain a permit to install a gas-fired hot water boiler. After installation is complete, Contractor shall contact the Georgia Department of Labor and make arrangements for an inspection. Contractor shall pay all fees associated with this permit and inspection. The new boiler shall have a factory warranty of no less than five years. The contractor shall perform, in the presence of the Contracting Officer?s Representative (COR), startup and testing procedures to verify proper operation of the boiler when installation services are complete. The contractor shall submit operation and maintenance manuals to the COR when work is complete. All work shall meet all applicable National, State, and Local codes. Site inspection is recommended. General decision number GA030046 for wage determination is applicable.
