Description
The United States Marine Corps (USMC) is seeking information from any commercial sources capable of providing, in whole 300 7.5 TON LIFTING SLINGS compatible with its current inventory of Kohering AMC-110 7.5 ton cranes. The required product characteristics include: able to lift and hold 7.5 U.S. tons, four independent legs not to exceed 7 ft in length; be equipped with chain at the end of each leg. The chain portion shall not exceed 4 feet in length and shall have a positive locking device for chain links so that the chain portion can form a circle; all four legs shall be held in a clevis that fits a hook throat spread not to exceed 4 inches; the entire sling assembly shall be certified as to its capacity; each sling shall have a manufactures? tag with certification, date manufactured, and date issued; the entire sling assembly shall not exceed 60 pounds in weight; manufactures shall have a sling program for recertification for the Marine Corps. This RFI is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire follow-on acquisition. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI, or otherwise pay for information requested. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission of responses to this RFI and Government use of such information. The Government recognizes that proprietary data may be part of this effort; if so included, clearly mark such restricted or proprietary data and present it as an addendum to the non-restricted/non-proprietary information. Firms possessing the capabilities to accomplish this requirement are invited to submit a statement of qualification, enclose product literature, past performance information, current GSA or other schedule information (if applicable) and price schedules/catalogues. Responses to this RFI should be received no later than 15 April 2004. Submissions are for market research and all materials will be retained in confidence. Product information shall be submitted to Commander, Marine Corps System Command, and ATTN: Capt George Carroll, CTQ, 2200 Lester St., Quantico, VA. 22134-5010. Telephone responses will not be honored.
