- Description
- As part of a continuing initiative for assessing the quality and effectiveness with which current laboratory retroviral or AIDS-related testing supports public health objectives, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) implemented the Model Performance Evaluation Program (MPEP). Components of the MPEP have been designed to provide external quality assurance for testing sites that perform HIV-1 Ab testing (both by traditional and rapid testing methods, HIV-1 Ribonucleic Acid (RNA) determinations, and CD4 T-cell determinations, to support disease surveillance and prevention programs. This project will involve the identification of donors for the collection, preparation, packaging, shipping and storing of plasma samples for use in evaluating the performance of laboratories that conduct human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) antibody (Ab) testing using HIV rapid tests. CDC is contemplating a firm fixed price contract, one (1) base year with four 12-month option periods. Full and Open Competition will be used in soliciting offers for this requirement. The NAICS Code is 6215111. The solicitation will be posted on the Internet at www.eps.gov on or around February 20, 2004. Hard copies are not available nor are email copies. Prospective offerors will be required to download all information concerning this RFP off of www.eps.gov under solicitation 2004-N-01177.
