- Description
- This is notice RE: pending Standing Quote Agreement for the period date of award through April 30, 2005. Item for bid will be as follows: NSN: 3920-01-076-9033 Truck, Hand, Two-Wheeled: Shall be a rigid, steel frame consisting of two side supports, a minimum of three cross supports, a nose plate, a handle(s), and wheel mounting brackets. Shall have pneumatic or solid rubber tires around steel, aluminum, or plastic wheels, or shall have solid rubber wheels. The wheels shall be equipped with bearings. The hand truck shall be capable of supporting and transporting a minimum load of 400 pounds without sustaining any damage or permanent deformation of any of the components. The nose plate shall have a minimum depth of 10 inches from front to back, and a minimum width of 14 inches. Workmanship. The hand trucks shall be able to roll freely without binding, and shall be protected against corrosion and painted. Shall not contain any sharp edges or other imperfections that may impair safety, durability or serviceability. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE: The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this Item Purchase Description, conform to the producer's own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY: The item(s) shall be packaged and packed in accordance with the latest revision of ASTM D 3951, Standard Practice for Commercial Packaging. Copies of ASTM standards are available from the American Society for Testing and Materials, 100 Barr Harbor Drive, West Conshohocken, PA 19428-2959. Shipments to the Department of Defense (DOD) shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129. PALLETIZATION: The shipping containers shall be palletized. The pallets shall be 48-inch length x 40-inch width, general purpose, four-way entry, flush stringer, double face non-reversible pallets. The palletized load shall not exceed 2500 pounds in weight. The palletized load shall not overhang the pallet. Less than half pallet loads or loads shipped by small package carrier need not be palletized. NOTICE: All lumber used inside or outside a shipment shall be BARK FREE. UNITIZATION OF PALLET LOAD: The palletized load shall be unitized and secured to the pallet to insure that the load arrives intact. NOTICE OF SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR SHIPMENT TO EUROPEAN UNION COUNTRIES: Per Clause D-FSS-468, non-manufactured wood pallets and other non-manufactured wood package material used in shipments destined for ultimate delivery to or through a European Union (EU) country shall comply with the Emergency Measures (2001/219/EC) adopted by the Commission of the European Communities (CEC). Additionally, shipments delivered to DoD distribution facilities or freight consolidation points for eventual delivery to or through EU countries shall comply with DLA PROCLTR 01-15.
