- THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE SYNOPSIS! The required service is to provide upgrades to the Hydroacoustic Data Acquisition System (HDAS) network of Digital Data Formatter Interface (DDFI) units at Diego Garcia and Ascension Island. This service will be conducted at Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory and Ascension Island, South Atlantic Ocean. Period of performance is 15 April 2004 to 31 December 2004. The Government intends to award on a sole source basis to Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). SAIC is the only source capable of fulfilling the government?s requirement based on extensive market research and since they are the Original Equipment Manufacturer and the only company possessing the expertise and necessary spare parts to upgrade the equipment. The new contract will continue all aspects of the previous contract to include: Planning and preparation for upgrade of six DDFI?s in accordance with CDRL A0001. Solicitation No. FA2521-04-T-0083 is issued for informational purposes only. It is advertised with Standard Industrial Code (SIC) of 3812, business size of 750 employees and a North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 334511. Sources who feel they are capable of performing this effort will have to provide evidence of technical capability. Once technical capability is established by the end user, the source may submit a proposal which will be considered by the agency. No solicitation will be posted electronically, but this office will provide a copy to any firm requesting one. Anticipated award date will be on or around 10 Apil 2004.
