- JOB DESCRIPTION: SOURCES SOUGHT/NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLICIT WITH ONE SOURCE. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials and drawings/plans to construct three working suitcase riverine flood plain models. The purpose of this task is to provide the professional expertise in working models. These will be animated physical models, which will demonstrate the flood hazards experienced by many communities and present possible solutions available to reduce or eli minate the flood threat. The focus is to raise awareness of the location of the flood plain, the importance of flood insurance, and the value of flood mitigation using nonstructural solutions. The US Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District intends to award the contract to RAUMBAU, 5400 Warehouse Way, Sacramento CA 95826-4915. Contractor is providing follow-on work and services. The three animated flood plain models with self-contained hydr aulic system capable of collection the water, returning it to a holding tank and then releasing the water through the model to simulate a flood event by manual release control. These models are a smaller suitcase-version of the previous models built by RA UMBAU. All interested parties may respond by submitting their statements of unique qualifications and experience, based on the information above. This is not a request for competitive proposals or quotations. The Government will consider responses received with in 10 days after the date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is within the discretion of the Government. All responses are due in not later than 24 MAR 04/1300 (1:00 pm PST). This Procurement will be conducted under FSC Code: R499, SIC Code: 7336, NAICS Code: 541430. The size standard for this code is $6,000,000.00.
