Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT, A MARKET SURVEY FOR WRITTEN INFORMATION ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION/REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFQ), AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED SOLEY ON THE BASIS OF THE RESPONSES HERETO, OR BASED ON ANY FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION SUBSEQUENTLY SOUGHT. NO REIMBURSEMENT FOR ANY COST ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING THIS INFORMATION WILL BE MADE. THIS NOTICE IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO ULTIMATELY ISSUE AN IFB, RFQ, OR CONTRACT, OR TO IN ANY MANNER BIND THE GOVERNMENT. Accordingly, the Naval Facilities Engineering Service Center (NFESC) is seeking Sources along with technical information for Special Purpose Vehicle Bodies that can be mounted to Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR) truck chassis (MK25 and/or MK28 trucks with or without cargo beds). The Special Purpose Vehicle Bodies, and anticipated quantities that may be needed by the Government are as follows: Fuel tank 1,500 gallon capacity (qty 54); Tire and lube service (qty 2); Asphalt distributor (qty 24); Water distributor 2,000 gallon capacity (qty 70); Aerial platform (qty 4); Earth auger (qty 42); and Field service (qty 58). NFESC will also consider all options for mounting these Special Purpose Vehicle Bodies, to include, but are not limited to the following: Fixed to the truck chassis; Removable lift-on (via crane and/or forklift) modules mountable to either the cargo bed and/or to the chassis; and/or Self-loaded modules using an MTVR integrated load-handling system. The bodies can be either self-powered and/or powered by being hydraulically attached to the MTVR Power Take-Off (PTO); which can provide in excess of 50 hp hydraulic power. In support of our assessment of feasibility, the following areas are of Particular Interest to NFESC: Body dimensions, weights and centers of gravity (CGs) (line drawings requested), performance and options. NFESC is also interested in seeking a Prime Vendor/Contractor, wherein the Prime contractor would be responsible for the bulk of integrating Government-furnished chassis into the Special Purpose Vehicle Bodies, under a given contract. Vendor/Contractor Responses: Please provide Brochures and/or any documentation that will clearly demonstrate body capabilities/characteristics for mounted on various commercial trucks, and which may also be mounted on the MTVR (the MTVR on-road load capacity is approximately 13 ton). Response information should be basic, yet comprehensive in relationship to the above specification information. The following Government Representative must receive all information, not later than 09 April 2004. Please submit all information to Ms. Gladis Aispuro, at gladis.aispuro@navy.mil, electronic submittals are preferred; However, Vendors may also mail information to: Commanding Officer, NAVFACENGSERCTR (ATTN: MS. GLADIS AISPURO, CODE ESC32), 1100 23rd Avenue, Port Hueneme, CA 93043-4370. Vendors may use whichever method is most cost efficient.
