Description
This action is pursued in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 13 (13.5). The required upgrade will include providing and installing a dust collector and vacuum producer, including testing, documentation, and training, to accommodate ten (10) of the vac uum drops in the sanding operation at Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD). The system must be capable of operation 24hrs/day 7days/wk. The system shall contain a two-stage filtration system, a centrifugal separation chamber and a second stage or bag chamber of th e separator. The second stage of the filtration system shall consist of a series of Polypropylene bags or equal having a total square footage of cleaning area capable of servicing the simultaneous operation of a minimum of ten (10) vacuum stations. Cleani ng of the filter bags shall be accomplished automatically by means of compressed air. All dust particles shall be collected in a 55 gallon drum located under the hopper. Included in the requirement is a minor construction effort, range is below $25,000.00 , to expand the equipment room wherein the vacuum producer and dustcollector will be co-located with an existing vacuum producer and dust collector. The equipment room has walls which are approximately twenty feet (20 ft) high and are made of wood frame an d drywall; one sixteen foot (16 ft) wall must be demolished; two walls lengthened by eight feet (8 ft); and a new sixteen foot (16 ft) wall installed. Additionally, some existing vacuum tubing must be removed, requiring HazMat removal. The dust particles from the sanding operation are metal and paint; and the paint is considered to be HazMat. The period of performance is 128 days from date of award. See note 1.
