****THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY - Solicitations are not available at this time. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government.**** McAlester Army Ammunition Plant is requesting information on the feasibility of an auto mated machine vision inspection system for the following small arms ammunition; 5.56mm, 7,62mm and 50 Cal. Specs to be addressed are: 1. Rate of inspection shall be a minimum of 100,000 cartridges in an 8-hour shift. 2. System shall be a turn-key system. Bulk loaded and automatically align, inspect (ADR), segregate and unload into containers. 3. Inspect using a virtual gage for chambering dimensions of the specified cartridge. IE, length, width, height of primer, concentricity, bent bullet tips, dents, corrosion and perforations in cartridge case and/or bullet. 4. System to be able to be delivered to McAlester, OK within 90 days of award. 5. Field transportable to operate on 120 VAC and 80-100 PSI pneumatics. 6. One button ease of operation for field use. 7. Temperature ranges 0 degrees F to 140 degrees F. As a result the system must have its own temperature/humidity control unit. 8. Nema Class 4 enclosure(s) to keep out dust & vermin positive air pressure system. 9. Explosion proof to meet Division 2 (C,D,E,F & G). 10. Provide rough footprint of system. Specify not to exceed dimensions. 11. Specify estimated weight. 12. Capability for phone line troubleshooting. 13. Complete documentation to be included in estimate. Respondents shall provide an acknowledgement of whether it is feasible and any documents deemed necessary to support this claim. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary and the Government will not pay for information provide d. Any proprietary information received should be marked appropriately.
