- Description
- The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL-SSC) intends to negotiate a contract on the basis of Other Than Full and Open Competition IAW 10 USC 2304(c)(1), only one responsible source. NRL will negotiate with JDS Uniphase, 3000 Merivale Road, Ottawa, Ontario, K2G6N7, Canada, for the delivery of eight high-performance dual 24X2 matrix optical switch modules. The contractor shall deliver a complete documentation package for all hardware and software as specified to allow integration of the dual matrix switch modules with the NRL designed and constructed optical system. The dual matrix switch modules must conform to the following specifications: (a). 2 switches per module, (b) 24 network side fibers per switch, (c). 2 terminal side fibers per switch. Other specifications include: Architecture: bidirectional, latching, blocking or nonblocking; Fiber type: single mode, (SMF28 or comparable); Insertion loss: 0.75 dB max; Wavelength range: 1270 to 1650nm; Return loss forward: 55dB min.; Return loss reverse: 55 dB min.; Return loss unselected port: 55dB min.; Polarization dependent loss: 0.1 dB max; Stability, 24hour: 0.02 dB max; Crosstalk: minus 70 dB max; Max Input power: 300mW min.; Switching Time: 25 ms max; Lifetime: 10 million transitions min.; Operating Temperature: minus 35 to 75 deg. C or wider; Humidity: 95 percent relative humidity (non-condensing) or better; Control Interface: RS485; Supply Voltage: 12V DC; Power Consumption: 10 W max.; Dimensions: 8 inch x 5 inch x 2 inch max.; Weight: 2 kg max.; Pigtail Length: within 1 plus or minus 0.1 m; Connector: FC/APC Other business opportunities for NRL are available at our website http://heron.nrl.navy.mil/contracts/rfplist.htm See Numbered Notes 22 and 26
