- Description
- This is a synopsis for ship repair per FAR Subpart 13.5 – Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The request for quotation (RFQ) number is DTCG80-04-Q-3FAB47. Award will be made to the responsible contractor whose offer, conforming to the solicitation, will be most advantageous to the government, price and other factors considered. Past Performance, and Price will be used to evaluate offers. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 336611. The small business size standard is 1,000 employees. The solicitation is issued seeking full and open competition. The RFQ package and specifications will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page on or about March 19, 2004 at http://www.eps.gov/. Please note that paper copies of the solicitation will not be available. The acquisition is for the drydocking and repair of the USCGC BRISTOL BAY (WTGB 102) A 140FT ice breaking tug and 120ft aids to navigation barge. The vessel’s homeport is Detroit, MI. GEOGRAPHIC RESTRICTION: Repairs are to be performed at the contractor’s facility located within the Great Lakes of the United States. This work will include, but is not limited to: Routine drydocking, welding repairs, renew hatches, propeller inspection, removal and repairs, clean/test grid coolers, clean exhaust stacks and spark arrestors, clean engine room exhaust ventilation system, overhaul blowers, overhaul and renew valves, overhaul anchor windlass and warping capstan, inspect deck fittings, renew weather decks and buoy deck, preserve superstructure, freeboard and underwater body, provide temporary messing, berthing and logistics and composite labor. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. A non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested hard copies of drawings. Drawings will be available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). For information concerning this acquisition, contact the contracting official listed above. NUMBERED NOTE: NONE.
