- Description
- The U.S. Postal Service is soliciting proposals from prequalified contractors for the battery room enlargement and the dust collection replacement project at the Los Angeles, California – Processing & Distribution Center. Re: Battery Room Enlargement – Provide a temporary battery charging facility at an open-air platform within the project site to accommodate 30 charging stations. Reconfigure both the McKinley and Florence battery charging rooms to increase the number of battery charging stations, and provide new bridge cranes, trolleys and hoists. Increase the power supply in each room to accommodate the new charging stations. Re: Duct Collection Replacement – Disassemble 3 existing insulating dust collection housing rooms to access the non-operating dust collectors. Disassemble, remove and dispose of the existing dust collectors. Reassemble the dust collection housing. Clean the interior of the existing ducting (for the dust collectors) and repair or replace the damaged components. Clean the dust from the exterior of all pipes, ducts, structural members and other surfaces within the workroom area. Estimated cost range is $1.7 million to $2.0 million.
