- Description
- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dry-Dock and repair to the USCGC KINGFISHER (WPB-87322). The Coast Guards intends to conduct this procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about March 30, 2004, with quotes due on or about April 16, 2004. The RFQ will be issued via the Federal Business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPS) web page at www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested. Send all request via e-mail to awoodley@mlca.uscg.mil. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. FEDBIZOPS also contains an option automatic notification service. The standard industrial classification code is 3732 and the NAICS is 336611. The acquisition will be solicited Small Business Set-Aside. The homeport of the vessel is Mayport, FL. All work will be performed at the contractor’s facility. The performance period will be 42 days with a start date on or about July 6, 2004. The scope of the acquisition is for dry docking, repairing and renewal of various items onboard the USCGC KINGFISHER (WPB-87322). This work will include, but is not limited to: welding repairs; clean fuel and waste oil tanks; clean sewage and grey water collection and holding tanks; realign main engine/reduction gear; remove, inspect, and reinstall propeller shafts; straighten shafts; inspect water lubricated shaft bearings; remove, inspect and reinstall propellers; perform minor repair and recondition of propeller; preserve tranducer hull rings; overhaul and renew valves; remove, inspect and reinstall rudders; preserve rib notch wet deck and stern door interior surface; preserve underwater body; preserve freeboard; modify and renew cathodic protection system; provide temporary berthing; provide temporary logistics; routine drydocking; modify forward deck locker water-tight door; replace SSDG sea water cooling system overboard valves with flanged valves. Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures shall accomplish all welding and brazing. The following Geographic Restrictions applies to the USCGC KINGFISHER (WPB-87322): Restricted from Brownsville, TX to Shallottee Inlet, NC.
