Description
The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Norfolk Naval Shipyard Annex proposes to contract for 75 Ton Heating and Air Conditioning Units in accordance with detailed specifications set forth in the solicitation. The units shall be enclosed, portable, high pressure capable of operating in an industrial shipyard environment exposed to rain, snow and wind blown dust with outdoor ambient temperatures between 20 degrees Fahrenheit to 95 degrees Fahrenheit with relative humidity ranging between 30 degrees and 100 degrees. The units shall be 46VAC, 3 Phase, rotary screw type compressor, not less than 900,000 BTU/HR cooling capacity. AC capable of conditioning 6,000 CFM; electric heaters capacity at least 421,000 BTU/HR (123KW). The maximum size of the units shall not exceed 17 feet 10 inches long X 10 feet wide X 10 feet 10 inches high. The total weight of the unit shall not exceed 18,000 LBS. The units shall be equipped with lifting pads to accommodate a four-point lift by crane and with box section tine guide openings in the base for safe handling and transport by forklift. The contract will be for a Base Quantity of 2 each with option quantities for an additional 14 units to be exercised in Fiscal Years 02 through 06 subject to availability of funds for delivery to Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, VA 23709-5000. Descriptive Literature will be required with all offers and will be identified in the solicitation. This requirement is being handled utilizing "SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION PROCEDURES" as set forth in FAR Part 13 and authorized in FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Products.
